About Yawa Hansen-Quao

Our founder

Hello there! I’m Yawa Hansen-Quao and I’m passionate about helping brilliant, purpose-driven people achieve their dreams and goals.

I’m the Executive Director of Emerging Public Leaders where I lead a talented team that helps governments fill the future leadership pipeline with competent and ethical public servants.

I created the StandOut Women’s Leadership Program to strengthen the leadership skills of women striving for personal and professional success.

Through the StandOut Women’s Leadership Program, I have coached entrepreneurs, managers, CEO’s to think strategically about their future.

I’m also passionate about helping women gain board-level experience. For 3 years, I served along some of the world’s most admired CEO’s and thought leaders on the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers Foundation Board; and I continue to serve on the Board of Directors of Ashesi University; an award-winning African liberal arts university.

As a Toastmasters certified Competent Communicator, I work as a speech coach, helping my clients find and use their voice as a force for good.

I also work with companies and individuals to deliver training programs that help build the capacity of high potential leaders.

Watch Yawa speak on why we must nurture a new generation of public servants in Africa.

Meet The Team

Joy Preston

“Faith is building on what you know is here so you can reach what you know is there” – Cullen Hightower

I am Joy Preston.  Influenced by diverse cultures, guided by Christian principles and believes that we can build a better world through education, women economic liberation and access to good healthcare.

I had the opportunity to attend basic school to University through the benevolence of adoption and the good people that I have connected with. From my diverse exposures, I developed interests in different activities in volunteering services, business, fashion, health, sports and humanitarianism. Whiles in my local community of Jos, Nigeria, where my journey started, I began my involvement in volunteering in workshops to equip young girls with business skills and to empower them economically.

College experience was interesting. At Ashesi University in Ghana, I was actively involved in several activities such as  to co- start a Foundation called “A College for Ama”, a project with the vision to break the spiral of poverty and lack of education in the destinies of young girls and women.

So with business knowledge in one hand and communications in the other, I was ready to take on the world of work! I have worked with business within the fashion industry, media and now in the corporate field. These experiences have given me the opportunity to learn, understand certain problems and to be a part of change makers.
